Fall Leaves Cake
This cake was CURSED!!! There were 3 different attempts at baking this thing, and we FINALLY ended up with this. The cake even killed a bird!!!! Well, sorta.
It was supposed to be a 2 tier round cake, then it was going to have one square tier, one round tier. The finished product? 1 tier, 4 layer, Triple chocolate and French Vanilla layered cake. I learned a lot from making this one, and I'm pretty happy with the final product. I used fondant to cover the cake, then, using a cookie cutter, I made the leave impressions, piped those and used the embroidering effect on them. I LOVE this technique and can't wait to use it again... But next time I'll be using a bigger tip, and not a cookie cutter. I don't like the dents it left :(

Basket Weave Cake for Class
This was a VERY fun cake. We saved flowers from all the classes for this one. Don't mind the bumble bee.... That was more for fun than an actual attempt. :/ |
Retro Bird for the side of the cake. This was Sara's idea that I snatched from her... Love it! |
St Patricks Day Goodies!!
Lightly iced with green vanilla icing and topped with a little shamrock. |
Also made a cake for my Dad to take to work. Should have put this on a better cake plate... But this was handy :) |
And THESE are the heavily iced cupcakes with shamrocks on them as well!!! |
More flowers
Apple Blossoms... SO CUTE!! |
I think it's a violet... Pretty sure |
And the apple blossoms and violets ON the cake :) Kinda looks like a pond doesn't it?! |
We had the option of a shaped cake or a rainbow. Valentines Day was coming up so how could i NOT choose to do a heart cake?! |
When I first became interested in baking and decorating cakes I decided to take a cake class at the local craft store. So, Sara and I signed up and away we went! Here is the first cake I made for class. :) |
